Details: AIAS chapter members will be updated on the remainder of activities planned for the fall semester!
Positive Pin-Up
When: April 18, 2023 - 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Where: Outdoor Classroom
Details: AIAS chapter members will have the chance to showcase their preferred projects and share their progress with their peers. This platform will provide an excellent opportunity for members to receive positive comments from other members. Members will also have the opportunity to leave sticky notes with encouraging and affirmative words on each other's work.
Construction Site Tour:
Contemplative Commons
When: April 25, 2023 - 3:30 – 4:30 pm
Where: Contemplative Commons South Entrance
Details: AIAS chapter members will be given the opportunity to tour VMDO's Contemplative Commons site on UVA grounds. Students should arrive on time with sturdy, closed-toes shoes (no sandals or sneakers), long pants, and a long sleeve shirt.

We will be discussing professional environments, how to pick a suitable internship for your personal interests, how to negotiate wages, and what to expect in a professional setting.

Details: Visit the local firm Design Develop and become familiar with the professional workspace. This is an excellent opportunity to ask questions about the professional workspace, licensure, and what to expect when transitioning from school to work.

Transition from School to the Workplace

Details: Recent alumni from the UVA School of Architecture will be answering common questions about the transition from education to work. We will be discussing job preparation for internships/post-education, deciding on when or whether to attend graduate school and tips on preparing for future work goals.
