About AIAS

Our Mission

AIAS is a national, student-run organization that diversifies architectural education. Here at the UVA School of Architecture, our chapter provides professional, service, social, leadership, and travel opportunities. Our mission is to provide a more sustainable, healthy, and equitable future through the empowerment of student voices, ideas, and actions.

Following COVID-19, AIAS' Chapter at UVA has flourished, winning the AIAS National Office's award for fastest growing chapter in the Northeast Quad in 2021. We currently consist of approximately 40 students and are always welcoming new, passionate architecture students to join our organization. In recent events, we have introduced students to various professional development workshops, hearing from local architecture firms and practicing architects about their experiences in the architecture and design-related disciplines.
